SAPIO issues its first credential to swiyu, the Swiss federal wallet

On 5 October 2026 SAPIO issued its first verifiable credential to the swiyu wallet in the federal sandbox, from its own issuer identity registered in the swiyu trust infrastructure.

On 5 October 2026 SAPIO issued its first verifiable credential to swiyu, the wallet of the Swiss Confederation. The credential was issued in the federal sandbox environment and accepted by the swiyu wallet on a phone.

SAPIO acted as issuer with its own decentralised identifier (did:webvh), registered in the swiyu trust infrastructure. The credential is an SD-JWT VC delivered over OpenID4VCI, the same family of standards used by the EU Digital Identity Wallet.

No personal data of real learners was involved.
